How do i make homemade necklaces?

I want to start making necklaces, but im very confused on how to make them with all the different tools, beads and fastenings. Does anyone know of any books or websites that would help? Or any other advice on how to make jewellery? Thanks.

Any craft shop worth it’s salt, should have “how to” books on sale with the supplies.

As you don’t seem to have a natural experimental artistic bent, then ask in the same craft shop if they are running any classes (as many shops do). You could also try the local library for craft groups [and books], or the local education authority, who may be running evening classes in art and jewellery design. There are also craftworker guilds in many rural areas as well as the Women’s Institutes.

As a last resort, you could stop someone in the street who has “homemade” jewellery and ask where they got it from and if they’d introduce you/teach you?

Most people are very flattered if someone admires their style or dress sense and are usually only too pleased to pass on some knowledge.
