What type of shoes do I wear with my new dress?

I bought a new dress at H&M. The dress print is made up of a continuous pattern. The colors are blue, white and red. The dress is long. The neckline is square shaped. The dress is tappered right above my waist and the sleeves are kind of poofy. The cut of the dress makes it look very 70′s, although the pattern of the dress gives it a mod look. I’m not sure what color shoes to wear. Also, should I get flats, boots, or high heels? And do my shoes, purse and necklace have to match?
The material of the dress is light.

I would go with a red shoe. It would bring out the color in the dress, add a bit of flair and be fun to wear. I would not choose white, personally I hate white shoes. Blues are very hard to match. If the dress has a more wintery feel then you could go with boots, but if it is lighter material, I would choose a mid size heel. Purse does not have to match shoes but your hose should be neutral or nude if you wear hose. The necklace could be silver or gold. I think silver would be great especially if you could pick up the geometrical design of the dress.
