Can I recast my Great-Grandmother’s 18k yellow gold wedding band in to 2 rings for my sister and I?

I am getting married and my mother has offered to give me her wedding band. This band was originally my Great-Grandmother’s (my father’s grandmother). I would like to have the ring recast so I can have one and my sister can have one for our weddings since we are the last grandchildren with our last name (no boys carrying on the name). So I would like my sister and I to have something to pass on. Anyway, can this be done or will there not be enough of the gold to work with?

That is such a great idea and so sentimental.
You will need to add more gold to make 2 bands.
But go to a jeweler and see what they can do.
Best way to go is do some research and talk to those people.
